FUNDACION GAIKER is a Technological Center, a private non-profit entity, dedicated to Research and the provision of Technological and Innovative Services for companies. Since our creation in 1985, we have contributed to the technological development and competitiveness of the industry through learning, specialization, and subsequent transfer to the members of our Foundation and our clients of technologies related to our areas of specialization: Biotechnology, Sustainable Composites, Sustainable Functional Polymers and Recycling and Circular Economy.
We develop R&D Projects, provide Advanced Technological Services (Technological Advice and Consulting and Innovation Plans, among others), and carry out Analysis and Testing.
At GAIKER we have a team of 96 technicians and professionals on staff and the most advanced equipment to be able to offer innovative and quality solutions to the technological needs of our clients, from a wide variety of industrial sectors.

GAIKER's material and composites equipment are oriented to support the industry testing at pilot level: Therefore, GAIKER has equipment to process thermoplastics and thermosets materials (including composites and plastics circularity). Some of the process are injection molding, rotomolding, extrusion, calender, pultrusion, SMC, compression and thermoforming ( 3 press and 1 vacuum press), infusion, tape laying, filament winding, RTM, lamination, compounding and additive manufacturing. For plastic circularity, GAIKER has pyrolysis and solvolysis reactors from 2L-160L of capacity with all the required equipment for crushing, shredding, and screening the materials. But also, pilot lines for identification and sorting waste materials equipped with NIR, MIR, Raman, hyperspectral, LIBS and other sensor systems, together with pilot lines for classical mechanical recycling (magnetic and electrostatic separators, wet density media reactors, etc.)
On the other hand, the biotechnology area is oriented to guarantee SSbD products from pharmaceuticals, food and chemicals. Therefore, GAIKER is equipped with lab qualified by GLP (Good Laboratory Practices). GAIKER has several tests to classify a substance under REACH with specific “in vitro” and “ex vivo” test for physical/chemical properties, human toxicological information and ecotoxicological information. Some examples are: Skin sensitization, Carcinogenicity, Germ cell mutagenicity, Specific target organ toxicity, repeated exposure, single exposure, Endocrine disruption, Acute toxicity, Skin corrosion, Skin irritation, Serious eye damage/eye irritation, Aspiration hazard (Cat. 1) between others.
GAIKER was created to support industrial developments offering our facilities to test future products, therefore, all activities are covered from training, design prototyping, development and testing.
